The Taylor Institute offers a wide variety of teaching and learning events, workshop series and webinars for audiences at UCalgary and beyond. We welcome academic staff, students, staff and postdoctoral scholars to attend any of our series and events.

One of our priorities is to bring colleagues across campus together and support you in creating meaningful learning opportunities for our students. This series will deal with timely and emergent topics that are cutting edge, provocative or high profile in nature.

The Blended and Online Workshop Series (BOWS) are sets of interactive workshops that focus on pedagogy and practice of blended and online learning.
D2L Introductions: The Tools You Can Use in Brightspace
This series is designed to introduce participants to the tools of D2L and provide them with the skills necessary to manage and organize their courses.
EDI Workshop Series
The aim of this series is to highlight how systemic inequities manifest in post-secondary environments and ways in which educators can move towards inclusive and equitable teaching practices, while catering to the learning needs of all their students.
Indigenous Guiding Principles Curriculum Development Series
This workshop series is aimed towards faculty engaged in curriculum development for programs or individual courses that involve Indigenous ways of knowing, being, connecting and doing.
Teaching Assistant Workshop Series
In this series of workshops, graduate students working as teaching assistants (TAs) or those interested in working as TAs will be introduced to pedagogical topics relevant to TA roles.
Transforming STEM Teaching and Learning Series
This four-part conversation series will give faculty, instructors and TAs in the STEM and allied fields the opportunity to connect, talk and learn (talking is learning) about how we can authentically create spaces of belonging for all STEM learners.

Integrity Week
Integrity Week is the premiere opportunity to showcase ethical teaching and learning. It aligns with the International Day of Action Against Contract Cheating, an event celebrated across the globe on the same day to bring attention to term paper mills, predatory tutoring and other forms of contract cheating.
