Emerging Educators Speaker Series
Series description
This speaker series invites emerging educators such as graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and new sessional instructors to explore critical topics related to teaching development in post-secondary education. Each session will feature emerging educators from the UCalgary community who will discuss topics such as preparing for teaching careers, writing a strong teaching philosophy, and collecting evidence of student learning and teaching effectiveness.
Join us for engaging discussions that bridge theory and practice while building a supportive community of early career educators at UCalgary.
Who should attend
All graduate students, postdocs, new sessional instructors and new faculty interested in teaching development are welcome to attend.
Learning Objectives
Attendees will:
- Explore evidence-based teaching strategies that can be applied to their own courses and instructional contexts
- Critically reflect on their own teaching philosophy and pedagogical approach(es), identifying areas for growth and development; and,
- Feel part of a community of peers committed to teaching excellence.
