Professor named 2016 Women in Law Leadership Award winner
Professor Jennifer Koshan has been named one of eight winners of a 2016 Women in Law Leadership (WILL) Award. Jennifer was named the winner of the Leadership in the Profession (Broader Roles) award, which recognizes a lawyer who applies her skills as a leader in a broader context. This could include lawyers active in an academic setting, a non-profit group, an organization that governs or promotes the legal profession, or in any other position not covered by another Leadership in the Profession award who has shown extraordinary leadership in one or more of several areas including: legal skills and capabilities, contribution to legal education and/or scholarship, mentoring of law students and junior lawyers, demonstrated leadership in law and diversity initiatives, and a commitment to being a positive role model for other lawyers.
Alumna Sandy Vander Ziel, JD'00, is the winner of the Leadership in the Community category.
The Women In Law Leadership (WILL) Awards are presented annually to female members of the Alberta legal profession. The purpose of the WILL Awards is for the Association of Women Lawyers (AWL) and The Counsel Network (TCN) to recognize the contributions of women lawyers.
