Background

Biography

Patrick manages the learning & instructional design group, collaborating with instructors to design online, blended and face-to-face courses that engage students to foster meaningful learning experiences. 

Areas of interest include creating meaningful learning experiences for students and instructors for both online and classroom courses, and enriching instruction using authentic learning, learning technology, and assessment. He has researched, written and presented about flipped learning. 

Patrick’s career at the University of Calgary spans more than 20 years and includes extensive experience with classroom and online learning. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biomechanics and a master’s degree in education technology.
