Using Mental Health and Wellness as a Framework for Course Design

One factor with the potential to affect student and instructor mental health and wellness is course design, including assignment policies, assessment practices, and expectations for student learning. In this session we discuss some of the issues and brainstorm strategies to promote wellness for instructors and students in university classrooms.

By the end of the session you should be able to

  • Identify course design strategies that have the potential to promote mental health and wellness for students and instructors
  • Select two course design ideas that have the potential to foster mental health and wellness in your own courses.

This workshop is offered to support the vision and work of the campus mental health strategy teaching and learning subcommittee
