The University of Calgary 2020 Conference on Postsecondary Learning and Teaching takes place in the beautiful Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning building, located on the University of Calgary main campus.

About the Taylor Institute

The Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning makes its home in a cutting-edge building at the heart of the University of Calgary’s main campus.

The 40,000-square-foot building was designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects, in association with Gibbs Gage Architects, and constructed on the site of the former Nickle Arts Museum. The building was designed with three guiding principles: flexibility, transparency and collaboration.

It is at once a building for innovation, a community of colleagues, and a collection of activities dedicated to better understanding and improving student learning. The Institute gathers people from across campus to inspire and be inspired by new pedagogical thought, conversation and practice.

The building was made possible by a generous donation by the Taylor Family Foundation to realize these goals.
